‘Clarice’ Lands Early Season 2 Renewal at CBS

CBS has ordered a second season of their Clarice series.

It’s 1993, a year after the events of The Silence of the Lambs. CLARICE is a deep dive into the untold personal story of Clarice Starling as she returns to the field to pursue serial murderers and sexual predators while navigating the high stakes political world of Washington, D.C.

In January 2020, it was announced that Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet would develop another Clarice Starling series for CBS as a sequel to The Silence of the Lambs set in 1993. The cast includes Rebecca Breeds as Clarice Sterling, Lucca De Oliveira as Thomas Esquivel, Kal Penn, Nick Sandow, Michael Cudlitz, Lucca De Oliveira, and Devyn Tyler. Maja Vrvilo is set to direct.

Season 1 of Clarice started pre-production on the 27th of July. Production is set to start on the 5th of October and wrap up on April 9, 2021.

UPDATE: Clarice has officially moved into the studio space that was previously occupied by Starz/Fremantle’s American Gods series. This does not bode well for the urban fantasy series.
