‘Titans’ Season 3 Info Reveals New Beast Boy Details

This article contains new details about Beast Boy in the third season of HBO Max’s Titans.

As of the season 2 finale, Gar Logan is only able to turn into one animal: a tiger. According to the Doom Patrol’s Chief, Gar can unzip his DNA and rearrange it. When Rachel asks why Gar can only turn into a tiger, it is explained that this is due to a psychological issue. The tiger is Gar’s favorite animal. Fortunately, Gar will be working past this mental block in season 3. You can expect Gar to transform into other animals in the third season of Titans!

It is currently unclear what these other animals could be. In the first episode of the second season, Gar turned into a snake. Unfortunately, the series has never really tried to explain how Gar was able to do this and none of the other characters have acknowledged it. It was revealed that in the original season 1 finale, Gar turned into some sort of aquatic animal. While the episode was never publicly released, I have learned that Gar was supposed to turn into an octopus. This scene was later rewritten, with Gar turning into an eel instead of an octopus. It is possible we might be seeing one of these three animals again in season 3.

Not only will you be seeing Beast Boy turn into more animals, but the VFX artists on Titans have also been working on revamping Gar’s tiger transformation. A new 3D model of a tiger is currently being developed.

Furthermore, Gar will be getting a new costume. This won’t just be different clothing though, it will be a superhero suit! Gar’s supersuit was described to me as a streamlined version of his current outfit. Unlike his previous hoodie, this new costume is more of a motorcycle jacket. It looks like a mix of the two superhero suits you can view below. It also includes a logo of a green tiger paw on his left chest area.

Beast Boy Titans DC Comics

Able to take the form of almost any animal, Garfield Logan, despite his flippant personality, is one of the most esteemed superheroes to bear the name “Titan.” Garfield Mark “Beast Boy” Logan is a fictional superhero appearing in DC Comics. Created by writer Arnold Drake and artist Bob Brown, he is a shapeshifter who possesses the ability to metamorph into any animal he chooses. The character first appeared in The Doom Patrol #99 (November 1965) and is usually depicted as a member of the Teen Titans.

As I stated in my Teen Titans series scoop article, Beast Boy is one of the characters eyed to star in the spin-off series. In a recent Instagram Live video, Starfire actress Anna Diop stated that she and Beast Boy actor Ryan Potter will once again be sharing a lot of scenes together.

Titans hails from showrunner Greg Walker and producers Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, and Greg Berlanti. The current cast consists of Brenton Thwaites, Anna Diop, Teagan Croft, Ryan Potter, Curran Walters, Conor Leslie, Minka Kelly, Alan Ritchson, Chelsea Zhang, and Joshua Orpin. Season 3 began production on October 14 2020 in Toronto and will wrap up next June. No premiere date has been set.

Seasons 1 and 2 are now available to be watched on HBO Max and Netflix.
