‘Doom Patrol’ Season 3 Set To Start Production in January 2021

The third season of HBO Max’s Doom Patrol is currently set to begin production in January of 2021.

Doom Patrol is based on the DC Comics superhero team of the same name and features Jane (Crazy Jane), Rita Farr (Elasti-Woman), Vic Stone (Cyborg), Larry Trainor (Negative Man), Cliff Steele (Robotman), and the Chief as the members of the Doom Patrol. The series premiered exclusively on the DC Universe streaming service. The second season aired on both DC Universe and HBO Max, with the two streaming services releasing episodes simultaneously. In September 2020, the series was renewed for a third season exclusively on HBO Max.

Doom Patrol follows the unlikely heroes of the eponymous team who all received their powers through tragic circumstances and are generally shunned by society. Most members of the team were treated by the Chief, a medical doctor who gave them residence in his mansion to help protect them from the outside world. Their name derives from an earlier Doom Patrol team that was formed by the Chief.

Doom Patrol creator Jeremy Carver commented on the renewal. You can read it below:

On behalf of the wonderful cast, writers and crew, we are thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to return to Doom Manor. And we are especially thankful for our partners at Berlanti Productions, Warner Bros. Television, DC UNIVERSE and, of course, HBO Max.

Sarah Aubrey, head of original content of HBO Max:

Doom Patrol came to HBO Max with an already deep and passionate fan base and has risen to the top as one of the most-watched Max Originals on the platform. The series sits well in our portfolio and we are glad to greenlight a third season to continue this distinctive style of storytelling that resonates so well with critics and fans alike.

The main cast consists of; Diane Guerrero, April Bowlby, Alan Tudyk, Matt Bomer, Brendan Fraser, Timothy Dalton, and Joivan Wade. Doom Patrol is developed by Jeremy Carver, with Carver also executive producing alongside Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Chris Dingess.
