‘Shadow and Bone’ Confirmed To Be Returning for Second Season at Netflix

Netflix has confirmed that Shadow & Bone will be returning for a second season.

Netflix’s Shadow and Bone series has now officially been renewed for a second season.

This news was officially revealed during the Netflix Geeked Event. You can watch the reveal video below:

The renewal was previously reported by me over at What’s On Netflix. I also reported that the Shadow and Bone renewal was set to be announced during the Netflix Geeked event, in my Umbrella Academy season 4 renewal exclusive.

Shadow and Bone is a fantasy show developed by Eric Heisserer and 21 Laps Entertainment for Netflix. It is based on the Grisha trilogy (beginning with Shadow and Bone) and the Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo.

Shadow and Bone finds us in a war-torn world where lowly soldier and orphan Alina Starkov has just unleashed an extraordinary power that could be the key to setting her country free. With the monstrous threat of the Shadow Fold looming, Alina is torn from everything she knows to train as part of an elite army of magical soldiers known as Grisha. But as she struggles to hone her power, she finds that allies and enemies can be one and the same and that nothing in this lavish world is what it seems. There are dangerous forces at play, including a crew of charismatic criminals, and it will take more than magic to survive.

The main cast consists of; Jessie Mei Li as Alina Starkov, Ben Barnes as General Kirigan/The Darkling, Freddy Carter as Kaz Brekker, Amita Suman as Inej Ghafa, Kit Young as Jesper Fahey, and Archie Renaux as Malyen Oretsev. Executive producers include Eric Heisserer, Shawn Levy, Pouya Shahbazian, Leigh Bardugo, Dan Levine, Dan Cohen, and Josh Barry.
