‘Tenet’ HBO Max Release Date Set for May 1, 2021

Warner Bros. Pictures’ Tenet will be available on HBO Max on the 1st of May, 2021.

Tenet is a science fiction action-thriller film by Christopher Nolan. The film was delayed three times because of the COVID-19 pandemic, with it ultimately being released in the United Kingdom on August 26, 2020, and United States on September 3, 2020.

Unlike future Warner Bros movies, Tenet was the first Hollywood tent-pole to open in theaters after the pandemic shutdown, and grossed $363 million worldwide, making it the fifth-highest-grossing film of 2020. However, it failed to break even when accounting for its high production and marketing budget.

In a twilight world of international espionage, an unnamed CIA operative, known as The Protagonist, is recruited by a mysterious organization called Tenet to participate in a global assignment that unfolds beyond real time. The mission: prevent Andrei Sator, a renegade Russian oligarch with precognition abilities, from starting World War III. The Protagonist will soon master the art of “time inversion” as a way of countering the threat that is to come.

The cast consists of John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Martin Donovan, Fiona Douri, Yuri Kolokolnikov, Clémence Poésy, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Michael Caine, Kenneth Branagh, and Denzil Smith. Tenet is written and directed by Christopher Nolan, who is also producing alongside Emma Thomas.
