‘4400’ Series at The CW Casting Series Regular Transgender Male Role

The CW’s ‘The 4400’ reboot is casting a Transgender male in the role of “Dr. Andre.”

Dr. Andre is a Trans male who is described as courteous, intelligent, proud, and impeccably dressed. Andre went missing in 1919, where he was a doctor studying the new field of anesthesiology. A good man, compassionate, he doesn’t hesitate to use his doctor skills to help out those in the crowd who seem injured. Andre is confounded and fascinated, but astute and adaptable to the brave new world he finds himself in.

The production is looking for a Transgender male actor aged between twenty and thirty-nine years old. Dr. Andre is a series regular role, meaning Andre will be one of the main characters in the series. From what we understand, the role has already been cast, though the casting is being kept under wraps. The series recently cast Joseph David-Jones and Khailah Johnson in the roles of Rev Johnson and LaDonna, respectively.

4400 is based on the series with the same name that was produced by CBS Paramount Network and debuted back in 2004. In the original series, a ball of light deposits a group of 4400 people from the past to the present day. Confused and disoriented, they have no memories of what transpired prior to their return.

In the reboot, 4400 overlooked, undervalued, or otherwise marginalized people who vanished without a trace over the last hundred years are all returned in an instant, having not aged a day and with no memory of what happened to them.

As the government races to analyze the potential threat and contain the story, the 4400 themselves must grapple with the fact that they’ve been returned with a few upgrades and the increasing likelihood that they were all brought back now for a specific reason.

The ‘The 4400’ reboot series has been in development since 2018, though it only recently got a series order. Ariana Jackson will write and executive produce alongside Anna Fricke and Laura Terry. Erica Watson will direct and co-executive produce the pilot. Production is gearing up with plans to film in Chicago, in June.
