Exclusive Blind Item: Substance Abuse in Hollywood North

While my sources generally give me production information on Film & TV projects, I sometimes also hear other types of things. This celebrity is bisexual, that one is a rapist, this one cheated on his wife, etc. etc… I never run information like this because it just isn’t my business (or yours). Recently I heard something very interesting though and I think that this needs to be shared. Seeing as how I’m not really a fan of defamation lawsuits, this article is going to be my first blind item.

There is this television series on a new streaming service. It is a pretty high-budget production. It films in Canada and has some pretty popular people behind it. From the cast to the directors to the writers, they are all well-liked professionals in the industry. Well, the production crew behind this series has a… substance abuse problem.

The substance in question is cocaine, which is one of the most addictive recreational drugs. It frequently distributed on-set. Now obviously, that broke some rules. The problem became big enough to the point where Naloxone kits had to be present on-set. Naloxone, sold under the brand name Narcan among others, is a medication used to block the effects of opioids. Naloxone kits were only brought on-set after a director on the series got addicted to it and had to be replaced. I myself don’t even know who this director is and from what I can see, they were never officially mentioned to be attached to this series (before they left the project, of course).

Now obviously, everyone knows substance abuse is a big problem in Hollywood. Generally, it’s just an actor or director using some, but this article is about an entire crew team using it.
