Exclusive: ‘Halo’ Set To Temporarily Move Production To Canada

It looks like season 1 of Halo will be finishing production in Canada.

Are you excited for Halo? Because I am. I have never played a Halo game, but the upcoming Halo Infinite game looks amazing. I am also a big fan of some of the crew and cast behind the series. Namely Pablo Schreiber, who plays the main protagonist of the series, known as Master Chief.

Halo is an upcoming live-action science fiction television series based on the Halo franchise. Originally, this series was supposed to be developed by Steven Spielberg, with Xbox Entertainment Studios producing. Xbox Entertainment Studios shut down and the series moved to Showtime. Production began in October of 2019. You can read the synopsis of the series below:

Halo is set to follow an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant. Halo will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future.

The series originally filmed in Budapest, Hungary, with post-production being done in Canada. I have now heard that, due to the coronavirus, production on Halo will be moving to Pinewood Studios in Toronto, Canada. Additional filming and reshoots are planned, with both of them taking around a week to finish. Production in Pinewood Toronto will be done by the Star Trek: Discovery crew.

It looks like this won’t affect future seasons, as they will most likely continue production in Budapest, which is where most of season 1 was filmed.
