DC’s Titans has landed an early season 4 renewal on the HBO Max streaming service.
Having just acquired DC Universe’s original content library, HBO Max is already looking like an amazing home for their Titans superhero series. This should not be surprising to fans of the series, as Titans has already gotten early renewals before. The second season of Titans was ordered before the first one had even premiered, while the season 3 renewal was announced before the finale of season 2. Stargirl (now at The CW) also had its second season renewal ordered before the end of the season 1.
Furthermore, I have learned that HBO Max is interested in developing spin-offs based on Titans. Over the years, we have all heard many rumors about potential offshoots, but this time its closer to becoming a reality than its ever been.
Previously, I revealed that a Teen Titans spin-off series is in development. But, I have also heard about two more: a Red Hood series and an anthology series that follows members of the superhero team in-between seasons of Titans. Before you get your hopes up, I cannot confirm that these series are in development at the moment. For now, I only know that Warner Bros. is interested in developing Titans spin-offs and distributing them through HBO Max.
Titans hails from showrunner Greg Walker, and producers Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, and Greg Berlanti. The current cast consists of Brenton Thwaites, Anna Diop, Teagan Croft, Ryan Potter, Curran Walters, Conor Leslie, Minka Kelly, Alan Ritchson, Chelsea Zhang, and Joshua Orpin. Season 3 began production last Wednesday in Toronto, and will wrap up next June. No premiere date has been set.
Seasons 1 and 2 will be available to watch on HBO Max on November 1st, in just 10 days.
